Old Berber Necklace with red and black Coral

Splendid, old Berber Necklace that unites the three traditional elements of this handicraft, red and black Coral and Silver.
Traditionally considered as a powerful protection, the Red Coral has often been used in the making of body ornaments and jewels. It has been considered the Life Bearer, as it represents blood and is connected to breast feeding. The black Coral, thanks to its deep color, has always been used as the most powerful protection against the ‘evil eye’.
Silver is the ‘prophet’s metal’ and is connected to the moon. The spheres used in this necklace to separate the two kind of Corals are decorated with a superficial Silver thread that creates a unique motif.
The necklace ends with two Silver cones.
