The subject here represented is a zoomorphic figure, a gazelle.
Seals are very common amongst the rings belonging to the entire area of Central Asia and they can have a talismanic (protective) or effective function, generally used by their owners with various intentions.
The inscriptions carved into this ring were used as protective phrases and families’ mottos, proving the mastery of the engraver goldsmith who created this piece of jewelry.
