Tibetan Buddhist Gao
Interesting Gao or Ga’u in silver, fully decorated and embellished with – on the top part – corals and turquoises set to depict and embellish the symbol of the Dorje.
The symbol of dorje (double) is also engraved on the back and inside.
Used as reliquaries, these Ga’u could contain holy scriptures or mantras and were worn by Nepalese and Tibetan aristocrats women as jewels, hair ornaments or earrings.
